The only elements of a Jo Thorne piece that originate overseas are pearls, cabochons made from Mother of Pearl, or stones such as Cubic Zirconia, but these are sourced from a long established London gem dealer, a family firm with ethical trade links to their Far East suppliers. The stones are manufactured and cut to the highest tolerances. The factories where they are made treat their workers fairly, and there is no exploitation.

Because of this, we don't see a need to use overpriced big name suppliers like Signity, a trademark of Swarovski, which is actually just carefully marketed and repackaged Cubic Zirconia of a particular quality. We simply use the highest grade CZ in our hair jewellery, optically so close to genuine diamond that only a trained eye can tell the difference.
