Jo Thorne Jewellery has moved to new studio premises in Bow. Apologies to those customers who have been affected during the transitional period, normal service has now been resumed - almost! We welcome visits to the studio by appointment, to book call 020 7503 3478 or email us.

New Collection to launch at Designer Wedding Show February 2008!

New About Pages

We've just added some brand new content to our about pages. We thought it would be interesting to give you a behind-the-scenes peek at the creative effort that goes into Jo Thorne Jewellery, both the company and the products.

We admit to being a little bit proud of our quality of design and production, but also of our London-based suppliers and outworkers.

Over the coming weeks, we will be adding more new content to the site in general too, so watch this space.

A Splash of Colour

For the first time, Jo Thorne introduces colour into her collections. Brides can now select a colour, perhaps from their shoes, flowers or sash, which can be perfectly matched and incorporated into a Dragonfly tiara or hairpin. Subtle splashes of colour in your hair accessories can also work beautifully as the only colour in an outfit - the perfect way to set off an all-white or ivory dress.

Customers provide a colour swatch, and then using a Pantone reference the resin used for dragonfly wings can be tinted to precisely match the colour. The result is a beautiful glossy enamel finish, but without the weight that enamel would add.

It’s already proving so successful that Jo will soon be incorporating the idea into other collections and future designs.

Designer Wedding Show Report

We thoroughly enjoyed doing the show again this year, many thanks to all the visitors and exhibitors who made it such a great success - and of course to the organisers Foxglove, who work so hard to make it the best wedding show there is.

Designer Wedding Show February 16th - 18th 2007

It's here! The most fashionable wedding show on the planet is back, with a fabulous lineup of designers that will have you drooling with desire. Absolutely not to be missed.

We've got two pairs of complimentary tickets for the show to give away to the first two people who email us - strictly one pair per person. The winners will also receive an automatic 15 per cent discount on any jewellery or hair accessories order made at Jo Thorne - come and see us on stand 166. It's the only show we do, so if you want a stunning Jo Thorne accessory for your wedding, it's a great opportunity to see the whole collection.

Retro Glamour - New designs and improved product pages

We've added some beautiful new designs to the dragonfly collection including three new tiaras.

We've also improved many of our product pages with new images showing the hair jewellery and tiaras modelled. We will add more as soon as they are ready.

Our photographer was inspired by the timeless glamour of classic Hollywood portraits from the 1930s and 40s - Jo's work has always been described as both retro and contemporary, and we wanted this to shine through in our pictures.

We think he achieved something very special, capturing images that have an almost vintage feel, yet still managing to be totally contemporary.

Wedding Magazine October/November 2006

Jo's hair jewellery and tiaras are regularly featured in all the top bridal magazines (see press page) and the October/November 2006 cover of Wedding features her innovative art deco design, the large white passionflower hairpin.
